Academic and professional experiences

Dr. Helena Lomberg received her PhD from the Medical Faculty in the
Department of Clinical Immunology at the University of Göteborg.

In 1989, after a three year post-doctoral fellowship, Helena joined the
pharmaceutical industry and since has supervised clinical operation
organizations and projects in the Nordic countries, Lithuanian, Poland, and
the US. She has an in depth knowledge of the prerequisites to drive
clinical trials. Additionally, Helena, from 1999- 2003, took part in various
international projects which designed and implemented major procedural
changes in Product Development at Bayer Pharmaceutical to improve
productivity.

As a former member and currently as Chairman of the Board of the
Swedish Society for Clinical Trials, Helena has gained extensive experience
in developing training programs and leading initiatives to improve
conditions for conducting clinical trials in Sweden. She works with an
extensive network of clinical trial professionals and is frequently an invited
speaker and chairman at various workshops and training events.

Director of Clinical Operations, Quintiles, 2006-2008. Directed clinical
research staff and clinical projects in Norway and Sweden.

Director of Clinical Operations, Nordic Management of Clinical Trials,
Göteborg, Sweden, 2004-2006. Directed clinical research staff and
clinical trial projects in Sweden, Poland, and the US.

Nordic Head of Clinical Operations, Bayer AB, Sweden, 1996-2004.
Directed clinical research staff and clinical trial projects in Sweden,
Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Lithuanian.

Clinical Trials Manager, GlaxoWellcome, Sweden, 1990-1996.
Managed Clinical Research Associates and monitored clinical trial projects
within specific therapeutic areas.
